Brittany Harry enters her fourth season as head coach after being named the Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year and leading the Dustdevils to a program-best 23-8 record in 2022. The Dustdevils had the best turnaround in all of NCAA Division II volleyball with a +18 win differential from 2021 to 2022.
In the 2022 season, the Dustdevils finished third in the LSC with a 13-3 record in conference play. Four Dustdevils – Mackenzie Catalina, Megan Menchaca, Emma Lade and Guilia Hortelan earned LSC All-Conference honors with Catalina, Menchaca and Lade being named to the 1st team and Hortelan being named to the 2nd team. Lade also earned a superlative award being named the conference’s Freshman of the Year and also earning a spot on the All-Freshman team. Catalina was also named to the LSC All-Academic team for the third time.
In the spring 2021 season, TAMIU qualified for the LSC tournament for the first time in 10 years and the first time since joining the LSC. They then went on to compete in the AVCA DII National Championship in Dallas, TX where they made it all the way to the final four round of the tournament with wins over Gannon, Wingate and Ashland. Catalina was named to the AVCA All-Tournament team for her performance.
The Dustdevils have consistently improved on the court but they have also excelled in the classroom as they earned the AVCA All-Academic Team award in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The AVCA All-Academic Team award is awarded to teams that achieve a minimum 3.3 cumulative team GPA each academic year.
Harry was announced as the head coach of the TAMIU volleyball program in January of 2020 after five seasons as the head coach at Laredo College. While at LC, she put together a 84-65 record and coached 18 players to NJCAA All-Region 14 honors and coached 2019 Region 14 Libero of the Year, Regina Tijerina. She also worked to build recruiting networks internationally and domestically.
Harry spent three seasons as the head coach at Vincennes University from 2011-2014. She led her teams to an 88-38 record and she coached four players to All-Region 12 honors and two players to the Region 12 All-Tournament team.
She began her head coaching career at Spartanburg Methodist College, where she spent two seasons leading the program and logged a 49-12 record. While there, her teams made back-to-back appearances at the NJCAA Division I Championships in Council Bluffs, IA. She was named the District K Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008 and was named the Region 10 Coach of the Year in 2008. She also coached the 2008 Region 10 Player of the Year, Tiffany Dean, as well as four All-Region 10 players, six Region 10 All-Tournament players and two Region 10 Tournament MVPs.
Harry has also spent time as a volunteer assistant at NCAA Division I Butler University and at her alma mater, the University of South Carolina Upstate.
She has amassed a career record of 265-163 (.619 winning percentage) in her 16 year head coaching career.
A native of Champaign, IL, Harry earned her bachelor's degree in communication-journalism from the University of South Carolina Upstate where she was also a member of the volleyball team from 2002-2005. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in sports administration from Concordia University Irvine. She has one daughter, Melia (12).
