Texas A&M International University swept St. Mary's 3-0 in Heartland Conference action on Saturday afternoon in San Antonio. The Dustdevils recorded the 30-28, 31-29,
30-28 win after dropping a hard-fought five-game match to Incarnate Word on Friday night.
TAMIU (8-15, 5-6) had its third best offensive outing on the season, finishing with a .319 team hitting percentage. Nicole Gipson led the way with 23 kills. Ladys Montaño contributed 11 kills and a team-high 15 digs.
The Dustdevils move even with St. Edward's in the win column for fourth place in the Heartland Conference standings with today's win over the Rattlers. St. Edward's (5-5 Heartland) plays at Incarnate Word today.
TAMIU returns to action on Tuesday with a match at St. Edward's. The two teams are battling to qualify for the four-team Heartland Conference postseason tournament.
