Dustdevils Win Again

Oct. 5, 2008

Final Stats

Texas A&M International University stretched its winning streak to three games with a 2-1 non-conference win over Eastern New Mexico on Sunday afternoon in Portales, N.M. With the result the Dustdevils (6-4 overall) are off to their best record after 10 games since starting the 2005 season with an identical 6-4 mark.

ENMU (3-3-2) led 1-0 at halftime on the strength of a Michael James score in the 30th minute. TAMIU recorded its second consecutive come-from-behind win on unassisted goals by Albert Escovar in the 55th minute and Roy Hernández in the 56th minute.

A stingy Dustdevil defense limited the Greyhounds to seven shots overall and one shot on goal. Sophomore Juan Pablo Muñoz went the distance in goal for TAMIU.

TAMIU will return to action with a Heartland Conference contest at St. Mary's on Thursday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. in San Antonio.
