Final Stats

Texas A&M-Commerce defeated Texas A&M International University 74-62 in second day action at the St. Edward's University Shootout on Sunday afternoon. TAMIU finishes the season-opening tournament with a 1-1 record.

Jasper Garrett made a layup to tie the score 25-25 with 4:36 remaining in the first half but Commerce would go on an 8-3 run to take a 33-28 halftime lead. The Lions then went on a 20-5 run over the first six and a half minutes of the second half to build an insurmountable 53-33 lead.

Sean Tucker led the Dustdevils with 17 points. Jerante Morgan finished with 10 points and Joe Reed and Mark Walton tied for the team lead with five rebounds.

TAMIU (1-1) will return to action on Tuesday night at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
