Final Stats

Texas A&M International University defeated Newman 25-18, 25-19, 17-25, 25-23 in Heartland Conference action on Thursday night at Fugate Gym on the NU campus in Wichita, Kan. The result reversed a 3-0 Newman sweep over the Dustdevils on Oct. 9 in Laredo.

Newman held a 21-15 lead in the fourth set but TAMIU would go on a 10-2 run to put the contest in the win column. Alexandria Montemayor contributed four kills and Clovershea McGill, Brittany Smith and Isela Flores one kill apiece to help the Dustdevils rally for the match-deciding win.

Flores finished with a team-high 15 kills with Montemayor and Smith contributing 14 kills apiece. Nicole Gipson contrinuted 11 kills and five blocks, Madison Mojica 23 digs and Danielle Gilley 52 assists.

TAMIU (6-22, 3-10 Heartland) will close-out the season on Saturday at Oklahoma Panhandle State. First serve is scheduled for noon.
