Final Stats
Texas A&M International University tied St. Edward's 1-1 in Heartland Conference action on Sunday in Austin. It was the regular season finale for both teams.
The result secured a third place finish for the TAMIU (12-5-1, 5-4-1 Heartland) in the final conference regular season standings in the team's first year as an active NCAA Division II member. The Dustdevils established a school record nine-game winning streak this season and finished with a 9-1-1 record over the final 11 games after starting the season with a 3-4 record.
Brandin Parras scored for St. Edward's (13-4-2, 7-1-2) in the 21st minute before senior Greg Mulamba sent the game into overtime with a score in the 86th minute. Mulamba ends his brilliant career ranked fourth on the TAMIU career points list with 32 points.
TAMIU finished with a 11-7 edge in shots on goal but SEU goalkeeper Matt Moore was up to the task by recording 10 saves. Dustdevil keeper Luis Rincon also had a solid outing, making six saves in a complete game effort.
