Final Stats

Incarnate Word defeated Texas A&M International University 69-61 on Saturday night at the McDermott Center in San Antonio. The loss snaps a two-game Dustdevil winning streak.

TAMIU made only six of 24 field goal attempts in the first half and UIW led 26-16 at the break. Both teams stepped it up in the second and TAMIU fought back to cut the Cardinal lead to 57-55 on two Nicole Gipson free throws at the 2:45 mark.

Incarnate Word responded with an 8-1 run to take an insurmountable 65-56 lead at the 56 second mark. The Dustdevils missed one three pointer and made only one of four free throw attempts during that stretch.

Jasmine June led TAMIU with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Krystal Manning contributed 12 points and six assists.

TAMIU will hit the road next week for Heartland Conference games at Lincoln on Thursday and Newman on Saturday.
