Final Stats

St. Edward's swept Texas A&M International University in Heartland Conference doubleheader action on Saturday afternoon in Austin. The Hilltoppers extended their winning streak to 13 games with 1-0 and 5-0 wins over the Dustdevils.

SEU (40-12, 22-4 Heartland) scored the only run in the opener on a fifth inning RBI triple by Linda Paul. Courtney Smith (1-12) took the loss for the Dustdevils despite allowing only one run on five hits in a complete game effort.

TAMIU (12-34, 8-18 Heartland) did not get a runner past first base in the second game. Victoria Beltran (7-14) took the loss after allowing four earned runs on five hits in a 6.0 inning outing.

The two teams will play again on Sunday with first pitch in the doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m.
