Final Stats

St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International University 1-0 in Heartland Conference action on Friday night at Dustdevil Field. The win improved SEU's all-time record against the Dustdevils to 5-0.

TAMIU (3-3, 1-2 Heartland) finished with a 12-9 shot advantage but the Hilltoppers had the most important shot of the night in the 72nd minute. Dustin Cherry blasted a free kick from 45 yards out that skimmed over the heads of several players before landing in the right side of the net, boosting SEU (5-0, 1-0) to a 1-0 lead.

Dustdevil goalkeeper Luis Rincon finished with four saves and SEU goalkeeper Matt Moore tallied three saves.

TAMIU returns to action on Sunday night with a conference contest against Heartland rival Incarnate Word. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Dustdevil Field.
