Texas A&M-Kingsville swept Texas A&M International University (25-22, 25-20, 25-10) in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at the TAMIU Kinesiology & Convocation Building. The result pushes TAMUK to a 9-4 lead in the all-time series between the two teams.
Each team finished 35 kills but Kingsville committed only six attack errors while the Dustdevils committed 24 attack errors. The Javelinas also notched 43 digs and five blocks compared to 38 digs and no blocks for TAMIU.
Jennifer Vega notched 10 digs and Alexandria Montemayor nine kills for the Dustdevils. Sha Tramble led TAMUK with 10 kills with Virginia Hernández contributing 12 digs to the Javelina cause.
TAMIU (3-22) will play its next three matches on the road before returning home for a season-ending three-match home stand. The Dustdevils will play at Dallas Baptist on Thursday and UT-Permian Basin on Saturday before playing at St. Edward's next Tuesday.
