Big Second Half Leads St. Mary's Past TAMIU

St. Mary's defeated Texas A&M International University 5-1 in Heartland Conference action on Friday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. StMU held a slim 1-0 before erupting for four goals in a 10-minute span midway through the second half.

Rachel Carranza scored TAMIU's goal on a penalty kick in the 78th minute, cutting the Rattler lead to 4-1. Mary Jo Hall finished with eight saves for the Dustdevils.

TAMIU (0-17-1, 0-10 Heartland) will return to action on Sunday with a home game against St. Edward's. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
