West Texas A&M Squeezes Past TAMIU Again

Nationally-ranked West Texas A&M defeated Texas A&M International University 1-0 in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon in Canyon. The 16th ranked Buffaloes defeated the Dustdevils by an identical score in the season opener on Sept. 4th in Laredo.

Lance Parker scored the game-winner for WT (10-1-1) on a header into the goal off of a corner kick in the 32nd minute.

West Texas finished with a 27-8 edge in shots taken and a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. TAMIU (3-5-3) goalkeeper Luis Rincon kept the Dustdevils in the game by contributing nine saves.

TAMIU will return to action next weekend with a non-conference home game against St. Thomas. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Dustdevil Field.
