Patriots Drop Dustdevils

Dallas Baptist defeated Texas A&M International University 77-61 in Heartland Conference action on Thursday night in Dallas. The result wraps up a two-game season sweep for the Patriots over the Dustdevils.

DBU (21-5, 11-5 Heartland) jumped out to a 14-4 lead en route to a 41-28 halftime lead. The Patriots led by double-digits the entire second half with the Dustdevils getting no closer than 11 points.

Sean Tucker led the Dustdevils with 21 points and eight rebounds. Derek Barnes finished with 10 points and Jerante Morgan contributed a team-high nine rebounds and five blocks.

TAMIU (7-16, 5-7) will close-out the home portion of the 2008-09 schedule with home games against St. Edward's on Saturday and St. Mary's on Monday. Tip-off against for Saturday's game against the Hilltoppers is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
