Final Stats

UT-Permian Basin defeated Texas A&M International University 18-12 in the finale of a three-game series on Saturday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. The win pushes the Falcons a 2-1 series win.

UTPB (4-2, 2-1 Heartland) led 6-3 after four innings and 13-7 after seven innings. TAMIU (2-4, 1-2) rallied with a five-run eighth inning to cut the lead to 13-12 but the Falcons answered the close call with a five-run ninth to put the game away.

Ryan Flynn and Zeke Sosa each contributed five RBI for the Dustdevils. Flynn finished with three hits, including his second home run of the season. Sosa went 4-for-5 with two home runs.

James Santillan (0-1) took the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits in 3.0 innings of work.

TAMIU returns to action next weekend with a three-game series against Oklahoma Panhandle State. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday and a single game on Saturday.
