Final Stats
St. Mary's wrapped up a four-game sweep of Texas A&M International University with a doubleheader sweep of the Dustdevils on Saturday afternoon at V.J. Keefe Memorial Stadium in San Antonio. The Rattlers claimed three one-run wins in the series.
St. Mary's won Saturday's opener 6-5 before claiming a decisive 9-0 win in the series finale.
Ryan Flynn hit a RBI double in the top of the fourth inning of the opener to push TAMIU to a 5-1 lead. St. Mary's came back for the win with two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings and one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Roger González (0-4) took the loss in a relief role. He allowed three runs on five hits in 2.2 innings of work.
St. Mary's (21-10, 19-8) out-hit TAMIU (10-18, 9-15) 13-7 in game two's shutout win. The Dustdevils had only one batter advance to second base after the second inning.
TAMIU returns to action next weekend with a four-game series at UT-Permian Basin. First pitch in Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
