Final Stats
St. Mary's swept Texas A&M International University in Heartland Conference doubleheader action on Friday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. Both games were five-inning shutouts, with the Rattlers winning game one 10-0 and game two 11-0.
St. Mary's out-hit the Dustdevils 31-8 on the day. Allison Stein recorded TAMIU's lone extra-bases hit with a two-out double in the first inning of game two. St. Mary's banged out seven extra-base hits with Arlynda Flores leading the way with three home runs.
Victoria Beltrán (14-13) took the loss in game one and Courtney Smith (7-1) was tagged with the loss in game two. Four Dustdevil errors in game one and one error in game two led to a combined seven unearned runs for the Rattlers.
TAMIU returns to action with a non-conference home doubleheader against Texas A&M-Kingsville next Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
