Final Stats
Texas A&M Kingsville swept Texas A&M International University in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. The Javelinas won the opener 10-1 in five innings before taking game two 7-2.
TAMUK out-hit the Dustdevils 14-4 in game one. The Javelinas ended the game early by scoring seven runs on nine hits in the fifth inning. Clarissa Salinas (1-6) took the loss for the Dustdevils in the opener.
TAMIU's Allison Stein led off the fourth inning with a solo home run to left field to tie the score 2-2 in the second game. The Dustdevils would go hitless, however, over the final three innings while the Javelinas scored five runs on seven hits to secure the win. Victoria Beltrán (14-13) took the loss after allowing seven runs (four earned) on 11 hits in a complete game 7.0 inning effort.
TAMIU (22-20) returns to Heartland Conference play this Friday with a home doubleheader against St. Mary's. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
