Final Stats

Texas A&M International University extended its unbeaten streak to six games with a 1-0 overtime Heartland Conference win over UT-Permian Basin on Sunday night in Odessa.

The win also pushes TAMIU to the top of the Heartland Conference standings with a 5-1 league record, a half game better than 4-1 St. Edward's. The Dustdevils and Hilltoppers will play next Sunday night in Laredo in a game that will likely decide the conference champion.

João Bacchi ended the overtime quickly in tonight's game. He drilled a shot from just inside the box into the lower left corner of the goal in the 91st minute.

UTPB (2-12, 2-4 Heartland) finished with a 8-4 edge in shots on goal but Dustdevil goalkeeper Emmanuel Frias helped push the game to overtime by making six saves. TAMIU (8-5-2 overall) was also credited with two team saves.
