Final Stats
East Central defeated Texas A&M International University 67-56 in non-conference action on Saturday night at the Kerr Center on the ECU campus in Ada, Okla. The result marked TAMIU's second loss in as many days to a Lone Star Conference opponent.
East Central (2-0) jumped out to a 22-7 lead and held that double digit lead for most of the first half and first part of the second half. TAMIU (0-2) cut the ECU lead to 56-48 at the 8:47 mark of the second half but would get no closer than that.
Three Dustdevils scored in double-figures, with James Silvie and Will Faiivae leading the way with 12 points apiece. Faiivae and Evan Matteson tied for the team lead with five rebounds apiece.
TAMIU closes out its Oklahoma trip by Monday against Southwestern Oklahoma. Tip-off against the Lady Bulldogs is scheduled for 7 p.m.
