Southwestern Oklahoma State Defeats TAMIU 72-59

Southwestern Oklahoma State defeated Texas A&M International University 72-59 in non-conference action on Monday night at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse on the SWOSU campus in Weatherford, Okla.

SWOSU (1-2) led by as many as 12 points in the first half but TAMIU (0-3) cut the deficit to 38-34 on a 3-pointer by Ryan McLucas at the 16:26 mark of the second half.

The Dustdevils would keep it close for the next 12 minutes before a late Bulldog run secured the double-digit win for the home team. SWOSU's lead was 63-55 at the 3:54 mark before a 7-0 run stretched the lead to 70-55 at the 1:07 mark.

Will Faiivae led the Dustdevils with a team-high 13 points and seven rebounds. Steven Ivory finished with 10 points and Brian Schaeffer contributed six rebounds.
