Final Stats
Sixth ranked St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International University 3-0 in Heartland Conference action on Thursday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. It was the season finale for the Dustdevils, who finish the season with a four game improvement in the win column from the 2009 season.
Neither team could get on track in the first half and the score was tied 0-0 at the break. St. Edward's (16-0-1, 9-0 Heartland) did all of the scoring for the game in the first 16 minutes of the second, with Janae Averette scoring the first goal by placing a loose ball off of a free kick into the net in the 45th minute. Kelly Servage scored short-range goals for the Hilltoppers in the 56th and 61st minutes to put the game out of reach.
St. Edward's out-shot TAMIU (4-12, 1-9) 14-1 with a 6-0 edge in shots on goal. Sasha Scott made three saves in her final game in goal for the Dustdevils.
