Final Stats
Arkansas-Fort Smith defeated Texas A&M International University in four sets (23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-12) in non-conference action on Thursday night at the TAMIU Kinesiology & Convocation Building.
TAMIU (0-10) finished with 47 kills but gave away 34 points with hitting errors. UAFS (5-5) topped the Dustdevils in digs 61-53 and blocks 11-6.
Jacquelynne Matula led the Dustdevils with 15 kills. Alexandria Montemayor and Bianca Mares contributed 11 kills apiece with Montemayor contributing a team-high 14 digs.
TAMIU returns to action on Saturday for its home Heartland Conference opener against Newman. First serve is scheduled for noon.
