Final Stats
Two second half goals lifted St. Edward's to 2-0 win over Texas A&M International University in Heartland Conference action on Sunday afternoon in Austin. The result keeps SEU atop the conference standings with a 3-1 league record while TAMIU sits in second place with a 2-1 Heartland Conference record.
St. Edward's scored both goals in the final 15 minutes, on a free kick by J.R. Ellis in the 76th minute and shot from 20 yards out by Joeski Williams in the 87th minute.
SEU (4-3 overall) finished with a 8-5 edge in shots taken but the Dustdevils managed just one shot on goal for the second straight game. SEU's John Kaschak and TAMIU's Jesús Cisneros finished with one save apiece.
TAMIU (4-4) returns to action next Friday with a home game against 2nd ranked Midwestern State. Kickoff against the Mustangs is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Dustdevil Field.
