Final Stats

Incarnate Word defeated Texas A&M International University 71-58 in non-conference action on Monday evening at the McDermott Center on the UIW campus in San Antonio.

Incarnate Word (3-7) led 34-24 at halftime. TAMIU (3-13) made it a game in the second half, cutting the Cardinals lead to 61-55 on a jumper by Johnna Williams at the 5:35 mark of the second half.

The comeback was not to be, however, with UIW answering with a 6-0 run to build an insurmountable 67-55 lead at the 3:58 mark.

Williams turned in another outstanding performance in the loss, finishing with 29 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks. Samantha Chacon contributed 10 blocks and a team-high three steals for the Dustdevils.
