Dustdevils Drop Two At Midwestern State Tournament

Texas A&M International University dropped two matches at the Midwestern State Hampton Inn Invitational on Saturday in Wichita Falls. Truman State defeated the Dustdevils in four sets in the opener (12-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-23) before host Midwestern State swept TAMIU (25-15, 25-20, 25-20) in the tournament finale.

TAMIU was competitive in every set against 20th ranked Truman State. Andrea Marshall contributed nine kills and 10 digs against the Bulldogs with Alex Cizek finishing with 12 kills and 21 digs and Daria Winckler chipping in with 26 assists.

Miranda Pratt led the Dustdevils with seven kills, four digs and two blocks in the loss to Midwestern State. Marshall contributed eight kills and three digs and Winckler finished with 21 assists against the Lady Mustangs.

TAMIU (1-3) will play a non-conference game at Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday before returning to tournament action next weekend at the Angelo State Tournament. The Dustdevils will face Angelo State and Abilene Christian on Friday and Tarleton State and Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday.
