UAFS Snaps TAMIU Volleyball's Winning Streak

Box Score FORT SMITH, Arkansas –TAMIU volleyball had their six game winnings streak snapped Thursday night, falling to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in four sets 24-26, 26-24, 15-25, and 14-25.
The loss drops the Dustdevils conference record to 2-4 on the season and into sixth place in the Heartland Conference Standings.

The Lions finished with 20 total blocks to TAMIU’s four, and held the Dustdevils to a .080 attack percentage. 

Sophomore outside hitter Alex Ciszek posted her sixth double-double of the season totaling 13 kills and 18 digs.  Senior Andrea Marshall and junior Miranda Pratt each finished with 11 kills apiece, while Marshall also kicked in 17 digs for her fifth double-double of the year.  Setter Daria Winckler racked up a game high 37 assists and added 15 digs for her team leading ninth double-double of the season.  Junior libaro Desiree Ortiz finished with 31 digs, one of five Dustdevils with double-digit digs.

The Dustdevils will continue their three game road trip Saturday afternoon, taking on Newman University at 12 p.m.
