DALLAS, Texas – The end of the road came quickly for Texas A&M International on Saturday in Dallas, as the Dustdevils fell, 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19), at Dallas Baptist. The Dustdevils finish their 2013 campaign 3-25 (2-16 Heartland Conference).
Dallas Baptist led nearly throughout the three-set match, as TAMIU forced only five game-tying plays and two lead changes through the match. As a team, TAMIU hit for an eerie 0.000 hitting percentage.
Offensively, senior captain Miranda Pratt led the way with nine kills and nine points. Alex Ciszek finished the day with seven kills and seven points, and Toriana Goods took five kills and a block to finish with six points. Paige Criss finished with five points as Koral Wright and Sophia Quinones each notched two points.
Lizzie Prieto and Rosebud Guthrie registered a point apiece.
Prieto was a one-woman assist machine, setting up all 25 of the team's assists.
On defense, three Dustdevils logged double-digit digs: Desiree Ortiz (23), Prieto (14) and Goods (11). Only Ciszek (8) and Quinones (7) shoveled more than three attacks.
The Dustdevils finished play in ninth place out of 10 teams in the Heartland Conference.
