Box Score DALLAS, Texas – No more than six points separated Texas A&M International University from Dallas Baptist in each of the game's three Heartland Conference sets on Thursday night. It was the host Patriots that survived each scare staged by the Dustdevils, concluding a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) showdown at the Burg Center in Dallas.
The Dustdevils attack continued its growth, led by junior college transfer Miaje Hubbard's 13 kills and one block for 14 points. She was followed by Tasmin Apple's 9.5 points off eight kills and two blocks. Senior Alex Ciszek killed eight and recorded an ace for nine points while fellow senior Sophia Quniones killed four from her defensive specialist role.
Lizzie Prieto transitioned the Dustdevils from defense to offense with 31 assists. The next closest Dustdevil was Samantha Gonzalez with two assists.
Defensively, freshman libero Alejandra Bustamante led the way with 14 digs, with Prieto and Quniones right behind with 13 apiece. Freshman Sarah Truman had eight digs.
The Dustdevils will continue their current road trip with a Saturday noontime matchup at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
