No. 3 Dustdevils Challenge No. 2 DBU at Conference Tournament

TAMIU falls in 2014 finale

LAREDO, Texas – For just the second time in program history, Texas A&M International University appeared in the Heartland Conference women's soccer tournament on the campus of No. 1 seed St. Edward's. The No. 3 Dustdevils faced No. 2 Dallas Baptist in the neutral-site semifinal.

The Patriots recreated the only previous matchup between the two teams with a 2-0 victory over TAMIU. The Dustdevils end their season with a 7-7-1 overall mark, 5-3-0 in Heartland play.

TAMIU levied just one shot on goal, coming off the boots of senior captain and All-Heartland Conference selection Sol Medina. Medina shot three other times along with fellow All-Conference selection Karina Garcia.

With the conclusion of the 2014 season, TAMIU says farewell to five seniors: Medina, midfielder Emily Behnke, defender Shelby Williams, forward Jessica Parker and defender Laura Twinem.
