AUSTIN, Texas (September 17, 2015) -- TAMIU Volleyball notched their second win of the season on the road against conference foe St. Edward's with a 3-1 win on Thursday night. (25-20, 25-21, 30-32, 25-18)
The Dustdevils dominated the first two sets of play, showing their confidence and control. A full team effort was put forward, with multiple Dustdevils tallying points throughout the sets.,
In the third set, neither the Dustdevils nor Hilltoppers were willing to back down. Extending the scoring beyond typical volleyball fashion, TAMIU was just short of taking the set, as SEU took the win with a 30-32 score.,
Fourth set action was driven by the set three loss, generating motivation for the Dustdevils to seal the win. Again, in dominating fashion, TAMIU took the lead early to pave their way to taking the set, 25-18. This win sealed the Dustdevils second victory of the 2015 season.
In the end, the Dustdevils earned their second win with a strong performance.TAMIU topped SEU in every category (Points-78, Kills-70, Aces-4, Assists-67, Digs-77) besides Blocks, which they tied for at four each. Junior Paula Mr
owczynska totaled 21 kills, while Senior Madison Morris recorded 2 Aces.TAMIU will conclude their road trip with conference play at Dallas Baptist on Saturday, September 19th. They will return home on Thursday, September 24th to face Oklahoma Panhandle State at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building, where the action starts at 7pm.
