SAN ANTONIO, Texas (September 20, 2015) -- The Dustdevils hit the road to San Antonio, set to preview a Heartland Conference matchup, that resulted in a 0-1 loss to the St. Mary's Rattlers on Sunday. The two will rematch, with Conference standings at stake, on October 10th in Laredo, Texas.
As the first half progressed, the Dustdevils were given two yellow cards within the first 45 minutes of action. TAMIU was strong out of the gate, holding the Rattlers scoreless in the first half of play.
The Rattlers drew first blood in the 66th minute, with a deflected shot on net past Miguel Lucio. Lucio made 5 saves through the 90 minutes. St. Mary's held on to serve TAMIU a 0-1 final.
TAMIU newcomer Maxine Baron and veteran Ryan Hodgson both shared a total of 2 shots on the Rattlers net. Josiah Benjamin, Abraham Lopez, and Edson Venegas each contributed with shots as well, giving the Dustdevils 7 opportunities to put a goal past St. Mary's.
Dustdevils Men's Soccer action will continue on the road, as they travel to Oklahoma City on Friday, September 25th, where Oklahoma Christian will offer another Heartland Conference preview match.
