Lady Dustdevils downed by Eastern New Mexico, 1-4

PORTALES, New Mexico (September 26, 2015) -- TAMIU Women's Soccer traveled to rematch Eastern New Mexico in a non-conference match that resulted in a 1-4 loss on Saturday. The Lady Dustdevils are now 1-6 in 2015, but have not yet faced any conference matchups.

The Dustdevils fell behind early, as the Greyhounds tallied all four of their goals in the first half (18th, 22nd, 31st, 34th minutes). At the half, TAMIU looked to regather and hold their ground.

In the second half, TAMIU held ENMU scoreless. Early in the 80th minute, Senior Kim Garcia was awarded a penalty shot following a caution on ENMU's Cristina Escobedo. Garcia disrupted the Greyhound's shut out by netting her fourth goal of the season, making the score 1-4. The Dustdevils held on to make this the final. Senior Goalkeeper Chelsea Knaack made a total of 6 saves through the game.

Up next, the Dustdevils will return to Texas with a stop in Canyon on Monday, September 28th to face-off in another non-conference contest against West Texas A&M. Follow along with www.GoDustdevils.com for game updates.
