LAREDO, Texas (September 15, 2017) – The Texas A&M International University women's soccer team finishes off its three-match road trip with a visit to Claremore, Okla. to face off against Heartland Conference leaders Rogers State on Saturday, Sept. 16. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at Soldier Field.

The Dustdevils (1-3-1, 0-2-0) will look to return to winning ways against a Hillcats (5-0-0, 2-0-0) squad that sits atop the conference standings with six points. TAMIU enters the match on a two-match losing streak after falling to Midwestern State and Newman in the past week.

A LOOK AT THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Saturday's match will be the sixth career meeting between the two schools with RSU leading the all-time series 3-1-1. The Dustdevils are 1-0-1 in matches played in Claremore including a 2-2 draw last year.

A LOOK AT THE HILLCATS
Second year head coach Scott Parkinson has made quick work of turning around the Rogers State women's soccer program that had won a total of seven matches the previous three years. After going 6-9-3 in 2016, Parkinson has the Hillcats to a perfect 5-0-0 (2-0-0) record and atop the Heartland Conference standings.

The Hillcats opened the season with wins over Northwestern Oklahoma State and East Central in the first weekend of the season. They defeated Newman 2-0 in their conference opener followed by a 9-0 thumping of Randall on Sept. 11.

RSU has outscored opponents 20-1 with Daisy Cardona leading the charge with team-high five goals, one assist for 11 points. The senior has scored at least one goal in each of the past three matches. Super subs Alexis Pryor and Marlaina Trahant have come off the bench in all five matches to score three goals a piece. Melissa Cardenas has a team-high four assists including two from their last match against StMU.

Newcomers Alex Wynn and Amanda Tewes anchor one of the better backlines in the Heartland Conference. Wynn has stepped in as a freshman starting in five matches while registering the second-most minutes on the team, 378. Tewes, a senior from Ventura, Calif., joined RSU this fall after a season at NCAA Division I Oregon State where she appeared in four matches. She also had a successful career at Ventura College earned 1
st team all-district honors twice.

Taylor Sargent has made an immediate impact for the Hillcats after transferring from Northern Oklahoma College - Tonkawa. She has played all 450 minutes in goal for RSU recording four shutouts with 10 saves for a .909 save percentage.

COHEN SHINES UP TOP
Nicole Cohen had arguably her best game as a Dustdevil on Thursday night against NU where she finished with a career-high in shots, shots on goal and minutes played. The El Paso native had three of TAMIU's four shots with two of those coming on-target while playing the full 90 minutes for the first time in her career. Earlier in the season, she scored her first career goal in a 4-3 defeat to St. Mary's.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BREAK THE STREAK
Saturday's match will be another opportunity for the Dustdevils to win a match on the road for the first time since Nov. 29, 2015. The 13-match winless streak is the longest in program history.

TAMIU will return to the friendly confines of the Dustdevil Soccer Field for matches against Oklahoma Christian (Sept. 21, 7 p.m.) and Lubbock Christian (Sept. 23, 1 p.m.) next week.Â
