LAREDO, Texas (April 28, 2018) - The Texas A&M International University Baseball team concluded a four-game series with St. Mary's on Saturday at Uni-trade Stadium. TAMIU fell 4-8 in game one and 1-7 in game two.
GAME 1: TAMIU 4 - StMU 8
Ruben Solis would start game one on Senior Day for the Dustdevils. Solis went four and a third on the mound, striking out one.
Mauro Luna,
Mark Trimble, and
Coleman Butler combined in the relief effort. Luna was tagged with loss in game one.
TAMIU opened the scoring in the day's first game.
Alex Cabezas drove home two runs on a long ball that sailed over the left field fence, putting the Dustdevils ahead 2-0.
St. Mary's battled back to take a 4-2 lead before the Dustdevils tied the game in the fifth.
A late grand-slam would give StMU the 8-4 advantage.
GAME 2: TAMIU 1 - StMU 7
Erick Garay got the nod in game two, tossing five and a third, striking out a pair of Rattlers.
Nick Montemayor relived Garay before Trimble closed out the game on the mound.
StMU would take a 2-0 lead before Cesar Espinosa would cut the lead to one with an RBI single.
The Rattler scored five unanswered runs to take the series with a 7-1 win.

The Dustdevils close out regular season play next weekend at St. Edward's University. The four-game series is set to start on Friday, May 4.
