Texas A&M International dropped two matches at the Shark Invitational in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Friday. The Dustdevils dropped the opener to Babson College in four sets (17-25, 23-25, 25-23, 26-28) before losing the second match to Lynn in three sets (16-25, 18-25, 16-25).
 
TAMIU fought back from 10-7 and 16-12 deficits in the fourth set against Babson, tying the score at 24 on a kill by Aleksandra Bilic. The score was tied again at 26 before the Beavers reeled off two straight points for the win. Mackenzie Catalina and Annie Deininger each recorded a team season-high 12 kills in the loss.
 
TAMIU (1-6) returns to tournament action on Saturday with matches against Missouri S&T and host Nova Southeastern University.
