LAREDO, Texas -Â Texas A&M International men's basketball (2-2) fell to No. 9 Southern Nazarene 75-46 in the final game of the Courtyard Marriott Classic on Saturday.
Sophomore Tom Higgins paced the Dustdevils with 13 points and eight rebounds, including shooting .500 from the field. Freshman Jorge Meijas-Sanchez logged 11 points with three rebounds, three assists and a steal. Senior Caleb Highley contributed seven points and a rebound.
TAMIU quickly fell behind after a 24-7 start midway through the opening half. Things didn't get better as the Crimson Storm took their first 20-plus point lead of the game at 33-12 with just over eight minutes left in the half. The closed out the period with a 51-22 lead.
SNU went up by 31 to start the second half at 53-22. Their largest lead of the game came at 73-37 with just over six minutes left in the game. They eventually took the win 75-46.
The Dustdevils will begin Lone Star Conference play on the road as they travel to Fort Smith, Ark. on Thursday, Nov. 21 to face off against UAFS.Â
