SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -Â Texas A&M International men's basketball (2-7) fell 75-45 to Cal Poly Pomona (5-2) in the fourth game of CSUSB Thanksgiving Classic Finale on Saturday.
Both Freshman Jorge Meijas-Sanchez and junior Matija Novkovic led the Dustdevils with nine points apiece. Meijas-Sanchez also posted six assists, three rebounds, and two steals, while Novkovic posted five rebounds and an assist. Senior Caleb Highley contributed eight points with six rebounds and a block.
The Broncos jumped out to an early 10-2 lead to start the game. TAMIU fought back to pull within four points at 12-8 with 11:33 left in the half. CPP responded by taking its first double-digit lead of the game at 19-8 with eight minutes left in the period. They eventually took a 33-12 lead into the half.
In the second half, the Broncos took a 30-point lead at 59-29 with 9:17 left in the game. They took their largest lead of the game at 73-35 with two minutes left. CPP eventually sealed the win 75-45.
The Dustdevils will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 14 as they return home for a Lone Star Conference matchup against Texas A&M-Kingsville at 3 p.m.
