LUBBOCK, Texas -Â Texas A&M International baseball (9-17) fell 11-1 in the series finale to Lubbock Christian (16-8) on Saturday.
TAMIU was able to get on the board early in the first inning as Anthony Handel scored on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead.
The LCU bats would come alive in the second inning scoring on a solo shot to start the inning, and score two more later off a two-run blast to take a 3-1 lead.Â
The Chaps added four more runs in the third to take a 7-1 advantage. The first three runs came in on three separate RBI singles. The final run reached home on a RBI fielder's choice. They added one more run in the fifth with a bases loaded walked to push the lead to 8-1.
The game would come to an early end in the seventh, as LCU scored three more runs to a take a 11-1 victory.
Logan McCrummen (2-2, 7.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO) earning the win after pitching a one run no-hitter through 6.1 innings. Justin Rumley (0-3, 3.0 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO) took the loss.
The Dustdevils will return home on Friday, March 22 as the begin Heartland Conference play against Rogers State in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
