CLAREMORE, Okla. - Texas A&M International University softball (16-24, 10-12 Heartland Conference) fell to Rogers State University (27-12, 14-6 Heartland Conference) in a Heartland Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
In the home half of the second inning, the Hillcats capitalized while the bases were juiced when Danelle Day smacked a grand slam off of Dustdevils starter, 
Sara Caterson (L, 6-6: 3 IP, H, 4 R, 0 ER, 2 K, 6 BB).
In the top of the fourth frame, TAMIU tried to battle back and when 
Shelby Edwards hit a double to left center field but that would be the only baserunner that Hillcats starter, Andrea Morales (W, 19-5: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 6 K, BB) would allow in the inning.
Jenika Lombrana (ND, 7-10: 3 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, K) entered the game in the bottom of the fourth inning and threw three shutout innings of relief while only giving up one hit.
Although the Dustdevils outhit their opponent by a pair of hits (4-2), the Hillcats would ultimately hang on for the 4-0 home victory.
The Dustdevils continue their road trip in a Heartland Conference showdown with St. Edward's University (9-18, 6-13 Heartland Conference) on Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m.
