The Hilltoppers came out of the gate hot as they opened the game on a 13-5 run. TAMIU steadied themselves and fought back to cut the lead to 13-9. However, that is the closest they would get. The second half was more competitive as the Hilltoppers only outscored the Dustdevils 43-37 in the period. It was back and forth for most of the half. TAMIU was able to fight back and trim the lead to 74-54 with just under five and half minutes later. Unfortunately, SEU would close out the game on a 15-6 run to take the 89-60 victory.
The Dustdevils will return home on Monday, Jan. 18 to start a two-game makeup series against Oklahoma Christian.
