LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer netted a goal with just over two minutes remaining to send UT Permian Basin to overtime, but in the first overtime period, the Falcons were the ones to find the back of the net, defeating the Dustdevils, 2-1.

UT Permian Basin (2-8-2, 1-1-0 LSC) struck first, scoring at the 18:48 mark of the first half to hold a 1-0 lead, one it held through the half and nearly the end of the game.

It wasn't until 2:18 remained in the second half, when the Dustdevils (4-6-1, 1-1-0 LSC) found the back of the net to tie the game 1-1.

Senior
Dylan Krufal scored a timely first goal of the season on an assist by junior
Hector Arreola who also picked up his first point of the season.

Unfortunately for TAMIU, the Falcons had the final say, scoring with 3:23 remaining in the first overtime to take the 2-1 victory.

TAMIU outshot UT Permian Basin 12-11 on the night, but it was the Falcons holding a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.

Sophomore
Gabriel Gacovicaj led the Dustdevils with three shots and one on goal, while Krufal and fellow senior
Kristian Colaci both had two shots on the night. Five other Dustdevils took a shot on the night with only one reaching the keeper amongst them.

TAMIU must quickly put the heartbreaker behind them, as they now prepare to host #18 West Texas A&M on Saturday. Kickoff from the TAMIU Soccer Complex is scheduled for 7 p.m.
