LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer hosted their final home game of the season and were unable to close the home schedule on a positive, falling to Texas A&M-Commerce 3-0.

The first 45 minutes were a stalemate, as neither team was able to crack the scoreboard. In the first half, TAMIU (3-13-1, 2-9-1 LSC) had three chances, placing two on goal and the Lions (8-6-2, 6-5-1 LSC) had 11 chances, placing six on net.

Commerce took the lead 4:02 into the second half on a penalty kick after a Dustdevil handball in the box, and then added a goal at 57:45 and 78:47 to ensure the victory.

On the afternoon, TAMIU was outshot 28-16 and 17-4 in shots on goal, as well as trailing 12-1 in corner kicks.

Tritch Ann Grant led the Dustdevils in shots with two, both on target, while four others combined for four shots and two shots on goal.

Fabiana Solano did all she could in net, stopping 14 of the 17 shots she faced.

TAMIU moves on to its final game of the 2021 season and awaiting the Dustdevils is West Texas A&M. Kickoff from Canyon, Texas on Saturday, Nov. 6 is scheduled for 11 a.m.
