DENTON, Texas – Texas A&M International (8-4, 5-4 LSC) played its first game in 21 days and fell to Texas Woman's (4-8, 4-8 LSC) 65-61 on the road.

The first quarter was back and forth as both teams battled to a score of 11-10 after the first 10 minutes.

Texas Woman's controlled the second quarter to the tune of 16-8 and took a 27-18 lead into the break.

The first half saw the Dustdevils shoot 30% from the floor and 31% from three, led by senior
Patrycja Jaworska's nine points and six points from freshman newcomer
Ally Winnen.

The Eagles on the other hand, shot 39% in the first half and equaled TAMIU with a 31% clip from three.

After falling behind by double digits and trailing that way the first half of the third quarter, the Dustdevils used a 12-5 run over the remaining four minutes of the quarter to cut the deficit to 40-37 going into the fourth.

Texas Woman's however opened the fourth quarter on a 10-5 run to stretch the lead back to eight with 6:14 remaining.

With 55 seconds remaining, Senior
Nicole Heyn hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one, but the Dustdevils were unable to get a stop on the ensuing possession as the Eagles got a three-pointer of their own with 45 seconds left and the game closed with TAMIU playing the foul game.

For the game, TAMIU shot 38% from the floor and 39% from three, as well as 7-for-9 from the free throw line. On the other hand, Texas Woman's shot slightly better from the field at 42%, however shot 25% from three and 14-for-17 from the free throw line.

The key stat of the game involved the turnover department. The Dustdevils forced only 10 Eagles turnovers and turned those into 10 points, while the Eagles forced 17 TAMIU turnovers and scored 20 points off the turnovers.

Texas Woman's was led by Sadie Moyer who scored a game high 23 points. Ma'K'La Woods added 18 points and six assists, while Jordan Jenkins scored a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Jaworska led the Dustdevils in scoring with 20 points and Heyn followed with 18 points and nine rebounds. Winnen contributed nine points in her first game as a Dustdevil and sophomore
Bre DeLon added seven points and six rebounds.

TAMIU will look to put aside this three-game skid and prepares for a Tuesday matinee against UT Tyler in Tyler, Texas. Tip is scheduled for 1 p.m.
