TAMIU Falls To Javelinas in Game Two of Series

LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International baseball (3-5, 3-5 LSC) dropped the second game of the series 13-0 to Texas A&M-Kingsville (1-1, 1-1 LSC) on Saturday.

The game began as a pitchers duel as both starters worked scoreless frames to open the game.

The Javelinas broke the seal in the second inning with an RBI groundout to second. They added a run in the third on a solo homer to right center to go up 2-0.

TAMUK's offense exploded for five runs in the fourth to push out to 7-0. A bases clearing, three RBI double to left brought home the first three runs, with a two-run blast over the left field fence plating the other runs.

They added an insurance run in the fifth on another RBI groundout to second to take an 8-0 advantage.

A three-run dinger in the sixth pushed the Javelinas over double digits for an 11-0 lead.

In the top of the seventh, TAMUK scored their final two runs to take the 13-0 victory. The first run came in on a bases loaded walk, with the other run coming in on a sacrifice fly to right.

Amado Almanzar (1-0) earned the win. Bryce Faust (0-1) took the loss.

The  two teams will square off in the rubber match game of the series tomorrow. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
