SAN ANGELO, Texas – Texas A&M International softball (20-15, 13-9 LSC) took to the field one last time in San Angelo for a non-conference clash against Angelo State (24-10, 15-7 LSC). Looking to bounce back after dropping the previous night's doubleheader, TAMIU unfortunately fell to the Rambelles, 10-1.

Angelo State struck early and scored in four of the five innings.

The Rambelles scored two runs on three hits in the first inning, with two of the three hits not leaving the infield. TAMIU then held Angelo State scoreless in the second inning.

Junior
Darrian Smith cut the 2-0 deficit to 2-1 in the top of the third on an RBI single scoring freshman
Victoria Gonzalez.

In the bottom of the third and fourth innings, the Rambelles drove in eight runs, by way of three doubles, two singles, an RBI groundout and a Dustdevil miscue to make the score its eventual final, 10-1.

Junior
Denise Longoria (1-1) got the start for TAMIU and in three innings, allowed eight runs, eight hits and four walks. In relief, senior
Melanie Lint closed the game throwing one inning, allowing two runs on one hit, with one walk.

Offensively, Smith and Gonzalez led the way with 2-for-3 outings, while senior
Morgan Chavarria and sophomore
Victoria Maldonado each added a single hit to the score card.

The Dustdevils look to end their current skid when they take the field on Sunday in a pivotal conference doubleheader against Lubbock Christian in Lubbock, Texas. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 18.
