LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer (3-3-2, 3-3-2 LSC) concluded its 2021 spring season, tying St. Mary's (6-2-1, 5-2-1 LSC) 2-2 at home.
TAMIU struck first at the 7:54 mark when senior
Kristian Colaci netted his third goal of the season on an assist from sophomoreÂ
Lassana Diakite to make it 1-0.

The Dustdevils held the lead at halftime, holding the edge in shots (8-4), shots on goal (7-2) and corner kicks (3-1).

St. Mary's answered to tie the game at 68:16 and took a late lead at 81:35 on a penalty kick to make it 2-1.

Only 4:50 later, Colaci stepped up for a free kick, kicked the ball into the middle of the box and a Rattler defender got a head on it, sneaking past their keeper for the own goal to even the game 2-2.

In the two 10-minute overtime periods, St. Mary's had the lone shot on goal as the teams played to the draw.

For the game, the Rattlers outshot TAMIU 15-14, but it was the Dustdevils holding the edge in shots on goal (8-7) and corner kicks (5-4).

Freshman
Gabriel Gacovicaj led the way offensively for TAMIU taking five shots, with two being on goal. Colaci (three shots, two on goal) and junior Johan Portals (three shots, two on goal) followed, while three other Dustdevils took a shot on goal with two making it on target

Freshman Naxto Faus got the start in goal, saving five of the seven shots he faced on the evening.
