WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Texas A&M International junior
Mauricio Figueroa was the name atop the leader board, winning the individual championship at the Midwestern State Invitational that concluded play on Wednesday.
Figueroa brought home a one stroke victory, shooting a -10 (203) over 54 holes. He shot -4 (67) the opening two rounds and closed out the tournament with a -2 (69) for the championship and his third top five of the fall schedule in as many tournaments.
As a team, TAMIU shot +17 (869) and concluded the invitational in ninth place.
Following Figueroa in T-32nd place was freshman
Oscar Feschuk with a +5 (218). After shooting E (71) the first two rounds, he concluded play with a +5 (76).
Senior
Ryan Staykov landed just behind Feschuk, T-38th with a final card of +6 (219).
Rounding out the Dustdevil lineup was Raul Gonzalez in 82nd with a +19 (232) and senior
Santiago Garcia in 84th with a +21 (234).
The men conclude the fall non-championship season at the RJGA Fall Shootout in El Paso, Texas. Opening round of the tournament is slated to begin on Monday, Oct. 24.
