LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International men's basketball put together a strong performance on Thursday in its 114-38 win over Southwestern Adventist to improve to 6-1 on its home floor.

From the opening whistle it was all Dustdevils (7-4, 1-3 LSC), outscoring the Knights 57-23 in the first 20 minutes of play, then equaling the 57 points in the second half, while allowing just 15 points in the second half.
TAMIU in the game outrebounded the opposition 50-19, as well as 33-3 in fast break points and 41-7 in points off turnovers.

For the game, the Dustdevils shot 44-for-75 from the floor (58.7%), 12-for-30 (40%) from deep, and the free-throw line saw 14 of 20 fall. TAMIU assisted on 31 of the team's 44 made baskets.

On the other side, Southwestern Adventist shot just 26.8% (11-for-41) from the field, 5-for-20 (25%) from three and were just 11-for-22 from the free-throw line.
13 Dustdevils entered the contest and all 13 hit the score sheet with five players reaching double figures.
Junior
Mike Rivera and sophomore
Olaverr Camacho led the team with 15 points each. Rivera added nine rebounds, while Camacho added seven.

Shea Rax connected on four threes for 14 points, while senior
Jermaine Drewey scored 13 to go alongside three assists and three steals.
Junior
Michael Ozomah put together a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in his 17 minutes, while sophomore
Tiras Morton had an all-around stat line of eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.
