SAN ANGELO, Texas – Texas A&M International men's basketball battled to a 71-63 loss against Angelo State to round out the weekend on Saturday.

The first half over the first 15 minutes was mostly even, seeing the Dustdevils (5-3, 0-2 LSC) trail by just two with 4:22 remaining.

However, the Rams (5-1, 2-0 LSC) would use a 13-0 run to open a 15-point lead over the next 3:17 and took a lead of 44-30 into the locker room.

Out of halftime, TAMIU would use the first 7:20 to trim the deficit to just four, and by the 7:36 remaining mark, trailed just 55-54.

Another run by the Rams grew the lead back to eight, and with 3:19 left the Dustdevils had it back to a two-point game.

Over the final 2:55, Angelo State would outscore TAMIU 9-3 to seal the victory.

For the game, TAMIU shot just 38.2%, going 21-for-55 from the floor, but struggled again behind the arc, going just 4-for-16. The Dustdevils also saw free throw woes return, going 17-for-27.

On the other side, the Rams finished 24-for-53 (45.3%) from the floor, and 9-for-22 (40.9%) from three, while finishing nearly perfect, 14-for-15 from the charity stripe.

TAMIU was led in scoring by graduate student Greg Bowie with 15 points and he also had four rebounds.

Jermaine Drewey was the only other Dustdevil in double figures, with 10 points.
