Box Score LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International Volleyball take their first game of the Electric City Invitational over Alabama-Huntsville. 

In the first set, the Dustdevils got ahead quickly as they took an early 3-0 lead over Alabama-Huntsville. As the set continued, it became a back-and-forth battle. Emma Lade set up 16 assists in the first set as Meagan Menchaca, and Mackenzie Catalina led the team with kills at six and five a piece. The Dustdevils took the first set 25-21. 

The Dustdevils came in firing in the second set as they dominated and got to a quick 4-0 lead. As the Dustdevils kept their lead, the Chargers failed to be able to gain momentum as TAMIU held them to only 15 points. Menchaca and Catalina doubled their kills to lead the team through the second. 

The Dustdevils started the third with a 6-point lead, as the Chargers fell behind 8-2. Although, TAMIU found themselves trailing midway through the set. The Dustdevils slowly began to close the Charger's lead but were unsuccessful, falling 21-25. 

In the fourth set, the Dustdevils found a new fire offensively, as they strung together ten kills and two service aces, making the score 12-6. On the defensive end, Lixai Perez totaled 17 digs, with Catalina close behind with 9. TAMIU continued to dominate as they took the set 25-18.

Offensively, Menchaca, Catalina, and Hortelan dominated, having 50 combined kills.

The Dustdevils will play their next match of the Electric City Invitational at 12:30 pm against Anderson University.
